Table of 2 Ahi Sushi Restaurant Review, UTC

The reason we did a Table of 2 Ahi Sushi Restaurant Review is I heard on next-door that they had been robbed and needed our support. So I posted this to see how many people could come out and support. Who turned up? Me and Marby. And quite frankly it was OK because we had a fabulous lunch, with a really good food, a very quick and accommodating waitress, beautiful owners and seriously good conversation. I mean it was so good that even after we ate we sat there another half hour just talking. Now that’s real connection. That’s awesome authenticity. And the fact that we were not rushed to leave (even when they started getting busy) is just another tribute to the management.

And truly building community is the reason I am running groups with Foodies. I have a lot of things to say about food and nutrition. Even more to talk about …… all my travels and to take turns with someone who has her own interesting experiences in life, is just a blessing.

Bento Box

Back to the food. I really like 3 things about this place:

They have Bento Boxes and you know that not every place has them.

When they give you a hamachi collar it’s a really nice size, given with a generous bowl of white rice. Also notice the cute teapot! I like it! Marby says the collar tastes good. I reply: “I think the quality of their food is equal to anywhere else I’ve been in San Diego and in many cases, better than I’ve had elsewhere”.

Yellow Tail Hamachi Collar with rice and tea

And, last but not least, their Sushi is rolled right. So it’s generous but it actually fits in your mouth.

If we want to say what I don’t like about some of the other Sushi Restaurants, just reverse these three things and you have a mediocre meal.

Shrimp Tempura Sushi

I mean you can clearly see this place is not skimping. If this is what they do for lunch, we can only imagine what dinner is like. When I read the Yelp reviews and people said things like: “This is one of my favorite local sushi places” we are not surprised and now can clearly understand why.

Help Fund “No Face Goes Unfed”. End hunger in San Diego clearly understand why.

The combination of nice atmosphere, nice staff and good food just can’t be beat. They are checking in to see if you need anything but not bombarding you, to show how much they care. It’s the perfect combination.

We will certainly be back for dinner with our San Diego Foodies and Carlsbad Foodies as well, to do a second full review!
