Background
Began on the east coast a Radio Broadcaster. Researcher, a knowledge junkie. A great example I’m sure you can relate to is: one day canola oil is good for you. The next day, it’s not. So it’s
important to keep everyone updated.
In Los Angeles, moved from sous chef, to ‘lead’ on what became my first Chef Marian Cooking Webinar Series and was also paid to cook for celebrities, while there.
Created multiple nationwide brands. Put American Telegram on the cover of Inc. Magazine as CEO & Founder. Nominated for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award 3 years in a row.
Later, moved to San Diego to raise my family. Hosted large gatherings in my gourmet kitchen with Celebrity Chefs, got to watch the process and ask questions, filmed cooking classes, started my blog and founded San Diego Foodies in 2008. in 2015, I took over Carlsbad Foodies, bringing both communities together for restaurant reviews shared on ChefMarian.com, Yelp, Google, and OpenTable.
Finalist in San Diego Magazines “Women to Watch” ~ Makers and Entrepreneurs in San Diego.
Studied in kitchens abroad and experienced the food of Michelin-star chefs such as Paul Bocuse, Alain DuCasse, Joël Robuchon, and Gordon Ramsay. Trained and certified at Michelin Restaurants in France and Thailand. Those experiences taught me how to bring restaurant-level thinking into everyday cooking. Spent more than a year interviewing nutritionists so I could better understand how food works in the body.
Today, we are doing an interview series called “Chefs Across America with Chef Marian” and an accompanying book.
