Can APeel and Organipeel be your next problem? That’s what’s trending online right now. And I always like to dig in do my research and bring you the facts, as we currently know them.
Apeel is just that. It’s like an added level Peel on your fruits and vegetables to keep them fresher longer. It is like a thin wax like barrier but feels undetectable. It’s made from purified mono-dyglycerides fats, extracted from grape seeds. avocado seeds, and other plant sources.
It’s applied by dipping, spraying or brushing APeel or OrganiPeel onto your produce. It’s used on avocados, cucumbers, apples, citrus, mango limes and more. iI’s goal is to provide the coating to slow spoilage. There are a couple of things coming up as ‘may be a problem’.
First off it’s often derived from highly processed seed oils, including GMO sources. Second, sister company Organipeel got organically certified through what critics are saying, a loop hole. The Rockefellers, the Gates and some of Tesla’s early investors are funding this. To have a synthetic like coating with industrial processing is what’s getting people to stand up and fight back.

If you agree this makes sense, here’s what you need to look for:
- If it says: Treated with APeel
- If it says: Organipeel
- If it says: Post harvest protective coating
- If it says plant-based protection or edible coating
If you agree this may become a serious problem, here’s the stores and brands that are banning this process:
- Jimbo’s
- Whole Foods
- Sprouts
- Trader Joe’s
- PCC Community Markets (affiliates)

How about the growers? These growers do not allow APeel, or Organipeel:
- Rainier Fruit, Stemilt, Driscoll’s, Earthbound Farm, Cal whatOrganic Farms, Del Cabo/Jacob’s Farm, Bridges

Veggies – Does yours have APeel? Produce, Covilli, Josie’s, Lakeside Organics, and Divine Flavor confirm they don’t use Apeel
- Stemilt Apples: Specifically discontinued Apeel/Organipeel on their apples
- Bragg: States no Apeel or coatings on their apples
- Azure Standard, Misfits Market, Imperfect Produce: Included in lists of Apeel-free providers
- Domex Superfresh Growers: Do not and will not use Apeel
