It’s Sunday and 6 of us are meeting up in our version of China Town. You’ve got yourself on CONVOY! And this time we are at The Tasty Noodle House! I don’t have to tell you because you know if you’ve ever been on convoy on a Sunday, but it is wall-to-wall cars. The parking lots are jammed full. And everywhere you look people are lined up to get into places to eat.
The Tasty Noodle.
What’s the experience like?
It’s the kind of spot where you walk in and wonder for a moment if there’s table service — humble, no frills, but clean and organized. The room was filled with local families chatting in their native language, which always tells me the food’s going to be authentic.

A real Winner!
Green Beans with Garlic – Patsy says: “They’re fresh.” Fran and her husband Andy are with us for the first time and Fran says: “The beans are seasoned just perfectly with garlic and other seasonings. Phyllis says: I enjoyed the green beans. Patsy agrees. And I would say the green beans are the big winner of the day. So yummy.
Andy says: “the vegetable dumplings were so fresh. They were just perfect.” Fran adds: “I’d come back for the dumplings, they were so fresh.”

Phyllis says: “I really enjoy the shrimp.” And as I look around the table it becomes obvious that we all feel the same, at least those of us that are not vegan. But there was plenty to eat for all. And the orange sauce is so good, when the shrimp are cooked in their shells, that I find myself sucking on them for the sauce and flavor.
Robyn likes the vegetable chow mein. I have to agree. The noodles are ‘tasty’. Maybe that’s why they are called The Tasty Noodle! lol
Well, that’s another lunch with another wonderful group of people from both San Diego Foodies and Carlsbad Foodies. We hope to see you at the table next time. Just text your name to 858-224-4485 and tell us you want to join!
With garlic, gusto and gratitude,
