Table of 6, Restaurant Review, Solare, Liberty Station

Pizza anyone?

This is our Restaurant Review for Solare, Liberty Station. That’s in San Diego, in case you are not local.

We get readers and eaters from all over the world, just salivating. lol That’s why I always include pictures. This was another lovely night, with people from San Diego Foodies and Carlsbad Foodies, who come out together to tell you what to order when you go to a particular restaurant. And they have lots to say about Solare in Liberty Station!

I don’t usually comment about anything wrong with a restaurant. And usually, I won’t comment about things like the wait staff, unless they are ah-mazing or the decor.

Is Solare more than just a pretty face?

This time around I have to comment about both. It’s wonderful to be in an Italian Restaurant where our waitress is actually from Italy (and we can talk about food there as well as here). And more than 3 people at our table commented about the love factor put into the decor. Unexpected. And a great place to gather friends, or just have an intimate dinner.

The people at our table were blown out of their socks.

That grin on Barbara’s face is all about the bone marrow. She was so excited to get the bone for herself on the Osso Bucco. And yes. She was the one who actually suggested we get that dish. And her recommendation is: “It’s the best I’ve ever had”. Richard says:”It is ‘fall off the bone’ good”. Ellen agrees. “It’s so good”. And as I sat there, with a late lunch sitting in my stomach, I too could not resist a bite or two. So good.

Out came Scallops with Risotto. That’s another big favorite from our group to you. Ellen comments: “Outstanding”. Sorry no picture. It came and finished quickly!

There is absolutely one dish you should NOT miss. The Arancini. Now I know it was a special on the menu. And it was great they had 3 choices outside their regular menu. Ellen says: “I really like the texture. Really enjoy the crunch.

But if we get really lucky, they might just add it to the menu. I know the Osso Buco came out with the same rice and saffron from the Arancini Ball. So ask for it! Who knows. Next time it just might be something more permanent from the menu.

Barbara’s Grin says it all about the Osso Buco

A memorable evening at Solare, Liberty Station

I don’t remember if it was Ellen or Barbara, or even Felicia who said:” It’s fresh, fresh vegetables, fresh everything. We love the care they put into the food” Another person jumped in to add: “they don’t try to confuse you with mixing flavors”.

We love that we get strong flavor profiles at this restaurant.

And so, they can plan on seeing our faces again. And maybe even yours too, now that you know 3 great things to order. Sorry we didn’t have room for dessert. But that could happen next time!

Happy Eating,
