Some of the yummy flavors that came out of this Faire, were incredibly good.
It was amazing to add Lima Beans, a basic protein to some standard dishes and instead of getting in the way of flavor, they just added to it and certainly added bulk with their good fiber!
Chef Marian enjoys congratulating the winners at The Lima Bean Faire 2014 in Encinitas!
It’s always a beautiful sunny day in Encinitas at The Faire. A most enjoyable afternoon at The Lima Bean Faire with Chef Marian congratulating winners for the second year in a row!
We had so many excellent dishes this year, from Appetizers and Soups to Salads to Main Dishes and Desserts.
And people get really creative! From Sweet to Savory, and I hope we’re not forgetting that when we are adding beans to anything, we are adding protein. People wonder how they can improve their health, improve their diet?
This is a sure fire way. If you come to the Faire it certainly will inspire you in the kitchen!
A special thanks to the Seaside Courier, who sent a photographer to feature all our winners!
They also published their paper with a feature page all about this event.
We had several local restaurant and caterers participate.
There was a silent auction, a cake walk, a petting zoo and an incredible band. Lot’s of good music and food! Plus the Heritage Museum was open for viewing.
They show you what surfing and skating was like in the old days, how people built their houses, washed their clothes and most important, cooked their food!
Hail! Hail! The gang’s all here. We were especially thrilled to have our Aussie contingency win both dishes they presented!
This was the 6th year for the Lima Bean Faire and every year it gets better and better.
If you missed it? There’s always next year!
We had a beautiful group of people that created and ran the event. We also had 4H and several other groups give us volunteers. The core of our workers are always somehow connected to The Heritage Museum.
