Some holidays hit the heart. This is one of them, for me.
I have a daughter that usually writes me a card or a poem, telling me how much impact I have on her life and how grateful she is to have a mom like me. My son tells me all the time the same thing, in ‘guy’ words (lol) how important I am to him.
This Mother’s Day, I thought I would write a love poem to my kids.
Enjoy,
Chef Marian
LOVE POEM TO MY MONKEYS
I am the luckiest mom of all – I got one of each flavor
Both tiny and tall
My daughter has fulfilled all of my dreams, she gives and gets love, a joy so it seems
And my son has so much he wants me to know He says “Ma, I’ll take care of you when your old, just don’t go”
The happiness and joy that being around them does bring
They both play instruments, both know how to sing
And Sing and Laugh is better than the rest
Family game night is fun – in fact, it’s the best!
To create food and eat, break bread over a meal
Makes all the world good for this true love that’s real
Puppies and children have all touched me so
The joy of being a mom to watch as they grow
This year I can say: No kids anymore – Hoping one day I’ll have GRAND kids to adore
My kids help me be unafraid as they tell me what about me they see
All the while that unconditional love remains there for me
And I’m thankful they’ve turned out to be the people they are
Making this world better pulling paint from a jar
And creating something from nothing, really a rock star!
In this world of creating the life you really want and need both kids show me clearly I have planted that seed of a Thirst to know, that thirst to change or create things out of thin air
They take after me and that both are clearly aware – of the great things they both can do, the great things they try, never giving up only there to question again, why
“Why can’t I do that? I’m thinking I can. Won’t stop till I do”
And that makes ME their biggest fan! And really proud too!
Philosophizing and helping others in every way they can
My girl is now a woman, my son is now a man
For I’m not the only one who loves them these days but ya know
they rock my world great In so many ways.
Happy Mother’s Day Kids!
