Locally Sourced Top Quality Produce at San Diego Restaurants Part 2

Last week, I reminded you that everywhere we look these days, we are finding restaurants and even food brands using locally sourced ingredients within 50 miles or less to promote sustainability and fresher flavors. There are urban farms popping up in your neighborhood and rooftop garden is gaining popularity as well. We mentioned our Top 6 Restaurants and here come your next 6 of locally sourced top quality produce at San Diego Restaurants.

31 Thirty One, North Park is another locally sourced beast

We’ve all heard of and maybe even followed …..  Michelin Star Chef Drew Deckman and this is his baby sourcing ingredients from nearby farms for sustainable and seasonable ingredients. Always tastes the best.

Eat right at A.R. Valentien

A.R. Valentien, La Jolla is more than just beautiful food

Some of our favorite Chefs and Pastry Chefs we personally know well make their mark here and it has been a Foodies Favorite for a very long time. It’s no surprise that A.R. Valentien comes in with flying colors on your list as being noted for their local organic ingredients and great flavor profiles. Several times I have checked into The Lodge at Torrey Pines for events, eating at this restaurant and turning it into a mini vacation. Should we plan something like that soon?

Farmer’s Table, Multiple Locations

Definitely Fresh and Sustainable you can find them in La Mesa, Little Italy, Chula Vista and Bay Park. It’s good to know about a small chain that provides vegan and vegetarian options, using locally sourced ingredients. Well done!

Farmer’s Bottega, Mission Hills is both gorgeous and delicious

Here’s another locally sourced ingredient restaurant featuring not only vegan and vegetarian choices, but also gluten-free options as well. Gluten Free Eggs Benedict? Sounds like a healthy but yummy brunch to me!

Prk 101, Carlsbad is BBQ at its’ best

Locally Sourced BBQ

Most people go to Prk 101, Carlsbad because of the ambiance. It’s a really casual fun place to eat! The roof top lounge is unique for North County. When you read up on them, you find out their delicious bbq is locally sourced from nearby farms. Might be a fun meetup!

And speaking of Meetup’s, we are going to Pacific Beach in September. It’s a very special by invitation only, the Food of Rome. I spent three weeks there, purchased some of my very favorite luggage there and ate some incredible food. I am working directly with the owner to curate this event. Get in touch if you’re interested.
