The background story …
So I’ve got the history and knowledge that is my back up and reason to create the outstanding Foodies Community that you know about. First, it was San Diego Foodies, that was created in 2008, then I picked up Carlsbad Foodies in 2015.
And through the years, we have created events all over California, mostly centered in San Diego with many events between Pacific Beach and San Juan Capistrano, occasionally dabbing our feet

into the waters of Newport Beach and doing ‘runs’ to Los Angeles for special events, like when I wanted to meet a special celebrity chef and his wife. We met Bobby Flay at his event in San Luis Obispo.
I guess we even went as far as Healdsburg, or you may know it as Russian River Valley. Chef Marian evolved into Chef Marian Kitchen Confident on FB, Insta and Pinterest. And just in case you are just following the Chef Marian Blog, I want to introduce you to the entire community you are missing out on!

I think it’s all the decades of shooting pix of food, then cleaning them up, all the decades of shooting videos and cleaning them up as well.
In the early days, I was in radio. And I found it really satisfying and enjoyable to edit tape. My claim to fame was that I could take an S off a word. Now… that’s not a big deal. I love how easy it’s been to do that today, as its’ evolved.
What does being a Member of Chef Marian Kitchen Confident do for you?

Well, not as much as it does for others. WHOOT?!?!
Yes, it was created to fund No Face Goes Un Fed, a passion project of mine to end hunger in San Diego, and then the plans are to franchise it Nationwide.
Now if you know anything about me and my background of putting one of the companies I helped create by being the CEO and Founder, on the Cover of Inc. Magazine … then you know I’m not taking funding from a VC, Bank or Board I have to answer to.
My history is bootstrapping and building my own companies, successfully. I say that not to brag but just to let you know, Chef Marian Kitchen Confident℠ is the way I found to fund ‘No Face Goes Un Fed’™, which is trademarked under Inside Circle®.
So when you become a Member, you’re actually supporting all the non profits that I have worked for (like Access, targeting kids who fell through the foster care system, sleeping on couches or in shelters, (getting some cooking skills from me). These are non profits who may have had their government funding cut, in San Diego. So as you can tell, I’m on a mission!
Membership gives you lots of benefits as a Home Cook, and at the save time, it serves our nation.
How can we help Chef?

Wow! I haven’t done that in years. lol. And now you get to check how long you’ve been reading this blog.
Remember when I used to do blogs and talk to myself this way and everybody thought I was nuts? lol I’d say things like “YES CHEF”! after each question I asked?
YES CHEF!
Well, I’m still that same person, just with a lot more skills and knowledge. But the thought does come to me …. there’s so much content all over the web that it’s hard to know who to trust.
You’re certainly not coming to me for recipes unless and if they’re my recipes that take good recipes with delicious flavors and pull out ingredients that your body can’t process, and substitute in ones that are actually good for you.
But I don’t think that’s why you come to me either.

The one thing that I can offer you beyond a recipe or the concept of creating your own recipe, is Wisdom. Three decades of reading Cookbooks, watching other chefs, meeting and working with celebrity and local chefs, and Michelin Star Chefs Worldwide, is doing research to bring you answers that you’re looking for. I just love to create Restaurant Reviews and scour the city and beyond, to find great restaurants to promote.
As a reviewer, our community contributes! I ask everyone to tell me what they recommend people order when they go to that restaurant. And that is what our review is all about. That and nothing more unless the ambience was amazing, or the chef came to our table and gave us some insider info. And we’ve even enjoyed fun dishes to try (that we did not order). And some of our best chefs (all Michelin Star) sent out champagne for all, to toast us.
As a reader and eater, are you interested Cooking Events, and having a Chef teach you how to cook and understand the nutritional value that goes with it? Do you want to understand the training I took from Karen MacNeil who wrote The Wine Bible so that I can pair of food and wine with you? Always training, learning and growing!
And what about our support from our Foodies Community?

If you’ve been part of this great ride, or ever gone on Yelp you know we have a ga zillion number of restaurant reviews on there, Google, Open Table and here as well, so that you know what to order when you go to a restaurant.
It takes a village and our village is filled with non stop Foodies, that sit at our ‘meal share’ tables. Everyone get a ‘tasting’ and then some. So good.
If you have a moment and can go to my store at the top of this website on the right, you’ll see that I have Books, Events and you will find the Membership that I haven’t even officially launched yet.
But I’ll tell you that (just between us,) I am only taking 50 Founding Members for our monthly Membership. And those will be the people that I ‘love on’ and give back to the most. My Foodies Friends that support me in the beginning days of building this out, will be getting lots of great discounts for events.

And while the Membership price will increase, (actually double by the end of the year), become a Founding Member now, and your price will always stay the same and you’ll always be in my heart and considered for special events, that the general public will not be invited to.
Are we havin’ fun yet?
There will be great content in a cooking portal, for you exclusively. They’ll be a special Facebook page for us, where we can support each other and share our ‘wins’.
