Now I don’t usually re-post people’s posts, but Chef Michael does such an incredible job at True Foods (remember that restaurant is connected to my favorite healthy person to read, Andrew Weil) that I’m gonna give it to ya just the same!

Well let’s talk about what True Foods is serving. Is that Freekie? Or Freekeh? At True Food they serve Freekeh, which is a “an ancient grain traced back to biblical times”. (I love ‘grandma’ food! Just have a look at my mushroom barley soup recipe on this blog)!
“It is wheat that is picked while it is still green and soft, then it is roasted slowly”. Low glycemic, hi fiber? High fives all around!
Purslane? I frequent that often when I’m in Nordstroms!

Ok. Ok. I’m just teasin’ ya! Purslane is an ancient wild green you can get at True Food.
I did spend Mother’s Day with my kids at this restaurant (24 and 26 yrs. old and they enjoyed it too) ….. so that says it all, in terms of my own personal choices. And this is a chain, believe it or not. All I can say is?
It’s about time!
And don’t just take my word for it. UrbanSpoon gives this restaurant a 91% thumbs up!
Their location in San Diego is at the Fashion Valley Mall off Friars Road.
Now I will say this: It’s a real challenge. Do I want to be naughty ? Or Nice?
