Green Tea: Friend or foe?

We’ve all heard about the benefits of Green Tea. Antioxidants. Are you drinking  3-6 cups a day? That’s what is being recommended…

Green Tea has the same problems we have with all our food today: it’s not the same as it was in our grandma’s time.

ORGANIC HELPS!

Yes. Organic helps. But not in cases where the plant itself it doing the damage.

And there’s something more to that tea plant, according to Michael Barbee, C.D.C.

Fluoride! “The tea plant (Camellia sinensis) absorbs and stores more fluoride that any other plant”.

And scientists have done studies and are coming around to the idea that fluoride is a cancer promoter. Worse yet? The fluoride, while it does create denser bones….. Michael claims: “Increased bone mineral density comes at a stiff price. The bones become more brittle and are more prone to fracture”. 

Bone strength. I hadn’t even considered that when drinking my green tea!

“Today’s Green Tea is often contaminated with unprecedented amounts of fluoride, aluminum and DDT and regular consumption can lead to serious health problems”. 

FLUORIDE CHEF?

Yes! Fluoride! I remember my daughter sending me a video that showed a container of water, tested first for amount of fluoride, then a man sticking his hand in and afterwards, when they measured the fluoride again? It was almost gone. Because when we take that shower? We absorb the fluoride in the water. Well I don’t mind telling you I immediately went out and bought a filter for my shower. I just don’t need outside things messin’ with my insides! lol

And if we listen to new studies out there, we hear that metals in our food, tea and supplements are causing Alzheimer’s. (Aluminum in my Green Tea? Are you kidding me)?

The metals oxidize just like they do on a fence. Rusty insides cause disease. And I’m all about prevention!

ME TOO CHEF!

Good! Now let’s get back to Green Tea: I keep getting this feedback, every where I research that yesterdays’ nutrition is either not in todays food, or things are being sprayed or in some way added to, that will make us think we’re getting the ‘real deal’ when in fact, we are making serious mistakes, based on what the media tells us is true.

Well, some things don’t change! lol

Don’t you remember the ad campaign, “Milk does a body good”? Notice that you haven’t seen that one around for a while? That’s because the FDA banned it because it isn’t true.

These are the things I hear when I research and listen to what is being said. But you know? Tomorrow they may release yet another study….. So see me as your researcher, your reporter. Take the information and maybe do your own research. And see what seems right for you. Ok?

YES CHEF!

Back to Green Tea again: I’m not saying stop all Green Tea. But like everything else…. everything in moderation. Hey! Chocolate has 4 times the amount of antioxidants than Green Tea! Go for a piece of dark chocolate! Or better yet? Coat a strawberry in dark chocolate and find your own ‘one a day’ supplement! lol

And by the way, when I bring this kind of stuff to your attention, it’s not because I want to scare you. It’s because there’s new information out there, new studies that have been completed and knowledge is power. You know the old saying right?

When you know better, you do better. Well that goes for what you decide to eat and drink.
