Quack, quack! It’s Vegetable edible art!
How’s that for fun? lol
You’ll see something like this at a hotel. But why can’t we just have fun with our food when we are entertaining at home?
There’s no excuses these days. You can find it on YouTube!
Or how about biodegradable bowls made from carrots, peppers, beet root, leeks, tomatoes, and other vegetables?
Are we having fun yet?
YES CHEF!
Good. Because on this monsoon rainy day with lightening strikes, I’m thinking about my days, my weeks in Sedona and how exciting that was. Watching through the floor to ceiling windows at Enchantment and enjoying fine dining. How is it, the last day of Comic-Con and all these tourists get a taste of San Diego that isn’t representative of what living here is really like? And do we really need to meet the adult men acting like children going to this event? lol Not!
Ahhhh. We can go back to the concept that we don’t need newcomers. We want to keep the population down, yes?
RIGHT CHEF!
Do we all feel that way or is it just me? lol
I remember living in Beverly Hills for 15 years. In those days we didn’t have tons of tourists. And the tourists we had, were sort of shy, taken aback by seeing a celebrity, not ‘in your face’ with the camera.
These days, I got back and it’s double decker buses, like in London, taking the tourists around. And every time I pass one? I take out my iPhone and take a picture of them….. my way of asking, “Do you feel intruded upon”? I mean, they are shooting me in my car! That’s ridiculous!
I’m sure the next part of my life will be less populated. It’s what makes me happy. My own veggie garden, my own space that I don’t have to leave for weeks at a time.
WHAT ABOUT VEGETABLE ART CHEF?
Well, that’s a very good question! It’s something that might be really fun to learn.
Take a look at this flower….
It’s done by the same woman on YouTube that I presented a link to, above. Mutita. (She ought to think about changing her name. Or branding herself better)! lol
Now, how would that be to serve dinner and put a vegetable plate down the center, with olives, roasted garlic, asparagus, broccoli, brussel sprouts and other fine choices, so that people are presented with protein and a carb maybe on their plate, and they get to choose their vegetables! Isn’t that an awesome idea for a dinner party?
YES CHEF!
So that’s what I’m thinking about on this rainy Sunday. Another oxymoron. lol
Wait! This IS California. How come it’s not still raining? What do we get? Just 20 minutes? And that’s it, universe?
There is a drought, you know. We could have used an entire day of rain. And you’ve really got to show those tourists a bad time! lol
Well, maybe you’ll give me more tomorrow.
Happy Eating,
Chef Marian
