Deborah Scott is an incredible Chef. And the Cohn Group is a brilliant group.
You may remember them from the Corvette Diner, Indigo Grill in Little Italy, or maybe you like The Prado?
Well, their latest trick is Vintana, 1205 Auto Park Way, Escondido. I can only assume that’s a play on words. I’ve seen other restaurants like the one, for example at the Princess Hotel in Scottsdale that had a high end restaurant called “Ventanos” or windows…. But when you go from Ven to Vin…. yep. I think we’re talking wine here.
They have large beautiful windows that overlook the lights of the city as the sun sets. And I understand last year they had concerts with Chaka Kahn and Spyro Gyra on the outside deck that were pretty amazing.
But I will say, what a brilliant idea to have a restaurant on the top floor of a Lexus Dealership. And Lexus owners get a 10% discount.
With the new me kind of eating (dairy, gluten and 95% animal protein free), they were incredibly accommodating….. they even had vegan salad dressing. And just like any good Lexus Dealership (and the one in Escondido is no exception), you feel so well taken care of, from the moment you arrive until you leave. Nothing is a problem. Issues are non issues. (We had people join us for the last 1/2 to have a quick drink and business meeting and they couldn’t have been nicer about it).
And everything is fresh.
So I recommend going to a Lexus Dealership for dinner. Can you believe that?
No really. It’s almost like you’re on vacation.
It’s a great feeling!
Oh… and one more thing…..
THERE’S MORE YOU WANT TO SAY CHEF MARIAN?
Yes…..It’s a green restaurant. They use recycled paper for their bags. And ya know, when you’re making money like crazy and don’t need to do anything…. the fact that The Cohn Group stands for something and tries to do what they can in this world, to make it a better place…. well…. I just feel good about eating there!
SO YOU RECOMMEND VINTANO CHEF MARIAN?
Yep. I recommend Vintano. Certainly the best choice in Escondido.
