Another Filmed Foodie Event!

Chef Marian interview April 15, 2012 Food & Wine Tasting Event with Chef Jason, Union Kitchen & Tap

Well, if you missed it, you missed it. Chef Jason and Chef Marian talking about Union Kitchen & Tap, and his background and love for food. In the next week I will have more information on the ChefMarian.com blog, more pictures, more details. We had members of San Diego Foodies and members of Encinitas Chop & Sip on a Budget. Plus there were customers from Union Kitchen & Tap that signed up as well. What a beautiful group of diversified, intelligent, ‘all about the food and wine’ people. It was a pleasure to chat througout the evening.

San Diego Foodies, Encinitas Chop & Sip on a Budget and others enjoy the experience: Union Kitchen & Tap Food & Wine Tasting Dinner

It always amazes me…… no matter what part of the county my events are in, people come from far and wide to break bread and sip wine together.

Such diversity…. so many different careers, backgrounds, experiences and thoughts to share at these events.

When I saw people exchanging phone numbers at the end I knew we had a hit! lol

Back to UNION: THIS was NOT a ‘tasting’. This actually was a feasting. Chef Jason just wanted to make sure the food presented well, so we had SIX courses that included Fig and Goat Cheese Flatbread, Venison Meatball (great if you’re vegetarian! lol), Salad, Shrimp and Grits, Quinoa Sweet Potato Cake, and Stewed Kale with roasted tomatoes. And as stuffed as we were…. we ALL MANAGED to scoff down that trio of desserts!

Dessert 'Union' style

These were our favorites: Chocolate Pudding Cake, Peach Crisp with Bourbon Pecan Gelato, Ricotta Scented Doughnut with Meyer Lemon Jam. Each member rated each dish and I passed that to Manager Bryan, to give him an idea of what food we really liked. Hopefully he will continue to have his restaurant be part of the San Diego Foodies Food & Wine Tasting Dinners ‘Family of Restaurants’ and will be open to experimenting on us at these events quarterly! Maybe give Bryan a call, tell him you want to come to our next San Diego Foodies event with Chef Marian, yes?

And while you are at it, ‘like’ this page, our Facebook for both Chef Marian and San Diegos Foodies. (Not a typo… someone is borrowing our name).

Our next event May 2nd is at Sbicca in Del Mar. I met with Dan yesterday and Chef Ian, and we have put together a most wonderful ‘tasting’ menu for you. We’ll have that up for viewing in a couple of days.

BOTH VEGETARIAN AND GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS…. so please tell your friends!

We have a cozy, comfy room all to ourselves and I have 50 (count em’) FIFTY tickets available. Now I know this is one of our high end events. But think about it. We all have friends, family and business associates we either owe a dinner to or want that ‘WOW’ factor. Going to a Filmed Foodie Event is fun and exciting. As a member of the audience you really participate in the evening. Outside of that, I am able to complete the shoot 3/4 of the way through the event, which means you also get to really socialize after the shoot.

Right now I am trying to assemble 24 restaurants both high end and medium priced. In some cases, I will consider lower end (like taking over a hole in the wall for a night). Can you email me suggestions, referrals and contacts that I should consider for this San Diego Foodies ‘Family of Restaurants’? Each restaurant will hold an event quarterly, so that gives us two events per month we can go to.

Not all of them will be filmed. So enjoy the filming aspect right now, with a link on YouTube you can send to friends and family showing them you are very close to being a celebrity yourself! lol  I am always working for you to get the best deal, and the most fun opportunity.

By the way, we gave away a Union Kitchen & Tap Gift certificate (Gina, founder of Exceptional Entrepreneurs drew a business card out of a champagne bucket). And next month Sbicca is donating TWO $75.00 Gift Certificates. So prepare to WIN!

Best,

Chef Marian
