San Diego Foodies at The Marine Room for Restaurant Week

San Diego Foodies got to enjoy Restaurant Week at The Marine Room. And a big thank you goes out to Chef Bernard who came back to the table over and over to answer questions about recipes and the food. There were 6 people… and here’s what they ate:

Salmon, shrimp & dessert! Didn’t get pix of the scallops but keep reading for the foodies reviews….

I wasn’t able to attend but Mindy stepped up to host the evening. And I understand from everyone who went it was a great evening out!

And what a beautiful presentation!

If you think that looks good?

Have a look at the shrimp and dessert.

Sometimes it’s the sauce that makes the appetizer. And also in this case, the presentation. Beautiful.

And now for dessert?

I said it before and I’ll say it again…. they all had a real good time! (Oklahoma)!

Here’s some of the feedback I received:

Alice: I had a nice time, the food was delicious. The chef was extremely generous with his time and visiting our table twice while we were there, even answering our cooking related questions. My favorite was the dessert trio, sumptuous dark chocolate truffle with fresh raspberry sauce, refreshing cherry sorbet and silky citrus panna cotta topped with a light crunchy meringue — the contrasts of sweet/bitter, warm/cold, fresh/rich, silky/crunchy were extraordinary!

Mindy: Great company, great food, and the setting was a 10. Even the sunset was a knockout. Chef Bernard came to our table twice to check on our meals and gave us a quick lesson in the proper preparation of scallops! An extra special treat. Three small desserts came with each meal, which was a nice touch.

I understand that Chef Bernard does a crazy good Happy Hour.

If you have the time? Stop in and please mention that you saw the blog and pix on ChefMarian.com!

Happy Eating,

Chef Marian
