Capetown is the latest, best South African Restaurant!

20 people came out for a San Diego Foodies/Travel Well Meetup at Capetown, on Miramar Road in San Diego.

And what a great night out that was!

I met with Chef Graham, to put together a great ‘tasting’ plate. We got to sample all kinds of food.

And the interesting thing is: South Africa attracts all nationalities. So it’s really a mish mash of flavors and specialties. You can’t actually nail it as any one kind of food. And we’re not familiar with a lot of what they serve. But what it all has in common?

WHAT’S THAT CHEF?

Flavor. And not just any flavor. But the right combinations that make your mouth do the ‘happy dance’.

They even accommodated a last minute gluten free dinner. That was pretty cool!

Graham did a special wine tasting for our group. And each, in my opinion was a very special wine. It was very generous of Graham and his wife. And really, when you look at the company, it’s all about family. His daughter is his hostess. He and his wife are in the kitchen. And so everyone really cares about the restaurant and wants the customers happy.

Sort of a foreign concept, yes?

I KNOW CHEF! NICE FOR A CHANGE!

That’s exactly what I was thinking. And they actually ship they food nationwide. Tell them Chef Marian sent you! And then send someone back east something really incredible this Christmas. Tell them: “This is how we roll in California”! lol

We ended our evening with a raffle. Linda and Barry of The Best to You Gift Baskets donated a wonderful Gift Basket!

Winner! Winner! Turkey Dinner!

We gave away a total of 4 gift bags/baskets. It was very cool. Lot’s of fun.

All’s well that end’s well, eh?

I want you to remember that TravFest San Diego is coming up in September. Go on meetup and join San Diego Foodies to follow and attend all the Chef Marian Events! It’s fun!

Happy Eating,

Chef Marian
